Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said “open up the government and we will negotiate.” She fooled the American people.

During a press briefing on Thursday, Pelosi point blank said, “there’s not going to be any wall money in the legislation.”

President Trump is not playing around when it comes to the the safety of border security. And his top priority as Commander in Chief, as promised, is building the wall.

With the government funded through February 15th, that means another shutdown is just a couple weeks away, and if a deal can’t be made, the President said “it’s within his power to call a national emergency.”

Pelosi will get nothing for her base, but President Trump will get the wall. Further, the President can enact 10 U.S.C. § 284 as Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) brought up on the House floor this week. Reactions followed after Pelosi’s remarks:

Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) took to twitter and asked, “Are the 60+ Democrats who promised their constituents that they’d negotiate on a physical barrier as part of border security once the government reopened going to stand up to Nancy Pelosi? Or will they cave to her open borders agenda?”

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) ripped democrats and said, “Amazing. Hardly 24 hours in to conference talks and Speaker Pelosi announces “no wall money” in a bill. This is a total and open refusal to even negotiate on something fundamental to a secure border. Stop pretending Democrats are negotiating. Democrats aren’t even pretending.” (Continued Below)

Meadows added, “Democrats applaud Obama for secretly going around Congress and sending $1.8 billion to Iran, yet they threaten to sue POTUS for using executive action to protect American families. Blatant politics. They didn’t negotiate during the shutdown and are hardly pretending to now.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) declared, “Largest fentanyl bust in history. Border Patrol seized enough fentanyl to kill 57 MILLION people. That’s more than the population of Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Minnesota, and Iowa. COMBINED. We have a crisis on our southern border.”

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) said, @speakerpelosi continually refuses to do her job and face the facts about the humanitarian crisis at our border. I’m on my way to get an update from the border patrol on the front lines. All the political theater makes one thing clear: #PelosiDoesntCare”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) wrote, “In Rio Grande Valley sector today at the southern border. Brownsville area has 35 miles of fencing and accounts for 6% of illegal apprehensions. McAllen, 45 minutes to the west, has sparse fencing and accounts for 94% of illegal apprehensions. But walls don’t work, right?”

We leave with Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) tweet:

Did anyone, with the exception of a few naive Republicans, believe that Pelosi would really negotiate in good faith, after the government was reopened? Anyone?
