Freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was forced under pressure, to apologize after her anti-Semitic remarks she made on Twitter about lawmakers being bribed to support Israel. She said that the Republican support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins.”
Omar’s apology is receiving heavy backlash from both sides of the isle after she wrote it on Twitter, because it did not seem sincere. (Video Below)
President Trump on Tuesday, suggested that he believes Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should either resign from Congress or at least, from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“I think she should either resign from congress, or she should certainly resign from the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” President Trump told members of the White House Press Pool, adding that the hateful comments are “deep seeded in her heart.”
President Trump also said that her apology was lame and that she didn’t mean a word of it, further noting that it was just not appropriate. (Video Below)
Vice President Mike Pence came forward and agreed with President Trump. He put his foot down, then he suggested Ohmar should face consequences.
Pence wrote on Twitter, “@IlhanMN tweets were a disgrace & her apology was inadequate. Anti-Semitism has no place in the United States Congress, much less the Foreign Affairs Committee. Those who engage in anti-Semitic tropes should not just be denounced, they should face consequences for their words.
In addition, the Vice President spoke with NBC Chief Foreign Affairs correspondent, Andrea Mitchell overseas in Warsaw, Poland on the matter. (Video Below)
“Unless Representative Omar resigns from Congress, at minimum Democrat leaders should remove her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.” Pence explained while speaking to Andrea Mitchell.
“I served on that committee more than a decade, Andrea. One of things that always united that committee is strong support for our relationship with Israel and a strong condemnation of anti-Semitism. The truth is, anti-Semitism is not just wrong, it’s dangerous. And Polish Jews during the Nazi occupation experienced one of the darkest chapters in human history. I’ll be at the Warsaw ghetto tomorrow. My wife and I will pay our respects and Auschwitz, on Friday.” The Vice President said.
“It’s important that the leaders in Congress take a firm stand against anti-Semitism rhetoric, and I think it requires consequences in this case.” He added.
The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest of all the Jewish ghettos in German-occupied Europe during World War II. It was established by the German authorities in the Muranów neighborhood of the Polish capital between October and November 16, 1940; within the new General Government territory of German-occupied Poland, per Wikipedia.
