Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe wrote in a new book that meetings were held at the Department of Justice on whether President Trump should be removed from office with the 25th Amendment after the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.

Andrew McCabe publicly admitted Wednesday night in an interview that began an “obstruction of justice” investigation after President Trump fired disgraced bureau chief James Comey from the agency.

“Former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe in a new interview reveals new details of the investigations into President Trump, telling CBS that there were conversations about the possibility of removing Trump under the 25th amendment and confirming that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had offered to wear a wire around the president,” reports The Hill.

“There were meetings at the Justice Department at which it was discussed whether the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet could be brought together to remove the President of the United States under the 25th Amendment,” said CBS News’ Scott Pelley.

“I was very concerned that I was able to put the Russia case on absolutely solid ground, in an indelible fashion,” McCabe said. “That were I removed quickly, or reassigned or fired, that the case could not be closed or vanish in the night without a trace.” (Video Below)

Prominent Lawmakers Quickly Respond After McCabe Discloses Rosenstein’s Plot To Oust Trump:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) wrote, “After Mr. McCabe’s 60 Minutes interview, it is imperative that he, and others, come before @senjudiciary to fully explain how and why a FISA warrant was issued against Carter Page and answer questions about what appears to be, now more than ever, bias against President Trump.”

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) declared, “Rod Rosenstein has no business working at the Department of Justice, and if these latest reports are true, he should not only resign immediately but come before Congress and answer questions.”

Meadows added, “The only thing you need to know about Andy McCabe’s book: the author was fired for lying to the FBI and conducting covert investigations in breech of protocol. McCabe has zero credibility. Can’t remember what “insurance policy” meant, but he can write a book. Give me a break.” (Video Below)

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) responded, “All un-elected and all plotted against the president. Comey: fired McCabe: fired Baker: demoted, resigned Page: demoted, resigned Strzok: demoted then fired”

Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) asked, “McCabe confirms: Conspiracy theory not a theory. During those 8 days in May, DOJ & FBI officials contemplated the whip count for a coup?”

Collins added, “Republicans have been asking about McCabe, Strzok, and Page—the triumvirate of corruption—for nearly two years. Now, it’s time to get those answers by bringing McCabe and DAG Rosenstein in front of the Judiciary Committee.”
