Nunes Slams Democrats’ Mission For Impeachment: ‘They’re Just Making Wild Accusations’

Ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), joined Fox News Monday where he weighed in on the Russia probe and to Democrats opening new investigations into President Trump.

Nunes explained that the investigations are “changing” and “developing.” (Video Below)

During his interview, Congressman Devin Nunes began by pointing out that Democrats have been investigating “collusion and obstruction” adding that “clearly they’ve left that far behind and have already written off Mueller.”

He noted that he’s not sure if Robert Mueller is actually near a conclusion just yet. “Other than CNN reporting that, I don’t know where they’re getting this information from. We don’t know if Mueller is really wrapping up or not, but clearly the Democrats want to… they’ve left collusion, they’ve left any collusion with Russians, and now they’re on to going into all of the President’s businesses– is what it appears.”

Nunes touched on the testimonies of President Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, and revealed that in Cohen’s closed door hearing on Thursday, John Ratcliffe (R-TX) went through point by point of the Steele dossier to ensure Cohen’s testimony was still the same from a year and a half ago when he first testified. Nunes said his testimony was the same. (Video Below)

When asked if we will see Cohen’s testimony, Nunes said, “We should see it immediately. This guy doesn’t have anything that’s classified so, I can’t control that any longer.” He added that it’s being hid behind closed doors and they will be interviewing him again this week.

Asked why the dossier is the heart of the whole investigation, Nunes responded, “Because, it’s the only evidence that we ever had– was the dossier, and it was phony.”

“The dossier was the dirt that was paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic party. It was fed into the FBI, it was fed to reporters, it was tweeted out by the campaign. It’s the origins of this entire investigation. There is no other evidence, other than this dossier.” Nunes confidently said. (Video Below)

Nunes said he believes that Michael Cohen is being used as a political prop by the Democrats. “He was the President’s long time person attorney. So, they can march him out there and say really nasty things about the President, so it looks good on the television. The fact of the matter is Cohen has no evidence of collusion, no evidence of obstruction of justice.”

When asked about the subject of impeachment, Nunes said, “I don’t know what they could possibly have to impeach [Trump] on, being that we’ve spent over two years looking for something that we just don’t have. It delusive. There’s no evidence of the Trump campaign colluding with Russians. That fact of the matter is: the only direct evidence we have of collusion with Russians is the Clinton campaign colluding with Russians.”

Nunes also pushed back at Democrats “impeachment” tactic and said, “It appears they are going full board all into Trump’s businesses and they’re asking for documents; there’s a new document request. And as that continues to rollout, they’re going to comb through those, and I think they’re hoping to find some evidence of wrongdoing somewhere.”

He added, “If the Democrats have evidence of impeachment, I’d like to know what evidence they have. All of these investigations have been in search of a crime. The dossier was phony from the beginning. It was unverified, [Democrats] started with that. And now, that’s been totally disproven. There is no evidence of anything that the dossier was true, other than Russia is actually a country. Now, they are moving on from that and just making wild accusations.”

Nunes pointed out how Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) claims to have evidence and fired back, “Just because you say it, doesn’t make it so. You actually have to have evidence. You can’t just say you have evidence.” (Video Below)

President Trump wrote on Twitter Sunday, “Presidential Harassment by “crazed” Democrats at the highest level in the history of our Country. Likewise, the most vicious and corrupt Mainstream Media that any president has ever had to endure – Yet the most successful first two years for any President. We are WINNING big, the envy of the WORLD, but just think what it could be?”

The President also took note of Devin Nunes’ interview on Monday afternoon and and wrote, “There is no Collusion. All of these investigations are in search of a crime. Democrats have no evidence to impeach President Trump. Ridiculous! @DevinNunes @FoxNews”

Then, he quoted Ari Fleischer and said, “Now that the Dems are going to try & switch from Collusion to some other reason, it makes them continue to look like sore losers who didn’t accept the WILL OF THE PEOPLE in the last election – they will do anything to get rid of the President.” @AriFleischer It will never work!” (Video Below)
