Rep. Steve Cohen Likens Trump’s Presidency To The Notre Dame Fire: ‘He’s Torching The Entire Structure Of Government’

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) took a swipe at President Trump Monday on conspiracy network MSNBC, where he claimed that Trump is as destructive as the fire ripping through Notre Dame.

Cohen is obsessed with harassing President Trump and will say anything for attention to keep the hate and division flaming.

While Rep. Cohen spewed his rhetoric on MSNBC, host Chris Matthews listened with infatuation.

“I think there’s a case for obstruction. I think there’s a case for emoluments violation.” Then, Cohen proudly boasted about filing “articles of impeachment” last year. “I haven’t brought them up this year, but we’re getting so far along– seeing what this presidents done.”

“What he has done to the Constitution and the rule of law is as bad as that fire did to Notre Dame. He’s torching the entire structure of government and the people’s respect for it, and Congress needs to act.,” Cohen claimed.

This is coming from a Congressman who represents Memphis, Tennessee and is doing nothing to “act” for his own district. (Videos Below)

As reported by the Daily Memphian, Memphis’ homicide rate was the third highest among the country’s 50 largest cities last year, according to the FBI’s latest data. In 2017, there were 181 homicides in Memphis, 28 deaths per 100,000 people in the city, according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting statistics.

It is worth nothing that in 2016 there was a record 228 homicides, the highest number of murders in the city since 1993. In 2006, Memphis led the nation in number of violent crimes. In 2001, 2005, and 2007, Memphis ranked second most dangerous in the nation among cities with a population over 500,000. It also ranked as most dangerous in 2002.

Rep. Cohen also discussed the upcoming release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report, which is expected to become public this Thursday.

He said he believes there’s evidence of obstruction and he believes that the report will detail ‘shady’ deals with Russia and President Trump. However, Cohen explained that the information revealed may not be enough to indict the President on conspiracy charges.

Cohen said that Attorney General William Barr’s timing is suspicious coming just ahead of Easter and the Jewish holiday of Passover.
