Rep. Devin Nunes spoke with Trace Gallagher on Fox News Friday where he fired back at those defending former FBI Director James Comey after the Inspector General released a scathing report pertaining to his conduct during his tenure at the FBI.

According to Nunes, Comey’s “defenders” sound like “the infamous Iraqi official who denied Baghdad was threatened by U.S. troops during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.”

After the release of the IG report of Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan tweeted in response to President Trump: “Jim Comey is far more decent, ethical, honest, competent, & patriotic than you could ever hope to be. It is only because the AG & Republican Senators refuse to put country above party that you are not in a world of trouble & hurt. But their protective cocoon is only temporary…”

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper claimed that Comey did a service to the country. “I don’t think there is a rule book though for this extraordinary situation involving potential criminality of a President. So Jim, did what he thought was right for the country. One man’s leaker is another man’s whistleblower,” Clapper claimed.

Rep. Devin responded to those running to Comey’s defense: “What it reminds me of — back in the day, during the Iraq War, right before Saddam Hussein was taken out, there was a guy who was his press guy named Baghdad Bob,” Nunes said of former Iraqi Information Minister Mohammad Saeed Al-Sahaf.

In 2003, on the same day American tanks rolled into Baghdad, Al-Sahaf held a news conference on the roof of the Palestine Hotel and said the American invaders had tried to penetrate the city but were slaughtered. (Continued Below)

“Be assured Baghdad is safe, secure and great,” claimed Al-Sahaf. “There is no presence of the American columns in the city of Baghdad, none at all.”

“This is like Baghdad Bob — all these guys are like ‘there’s nothing to see here, everything’s going to be OK.’ On what planet do you have the former director of national intelligence agency out there saying, ‘One man’s leaker is another man’s whistleblower’?” he asked. “What the hell is he talking about? These people have lost their minds.”

“These people have been covering up for ages. If that had been Condoleezza Rice or some Republican from that day, George W. Bush, they would be excoriating them,” Nunes said. “There is no excuse for the top cop in the land to be this dirty.” (Video Below)
