Frustrated Joe Biden Says He’ll ‘Beat [Trump] Like A Drum’ When Asked About Ukraine Controversy

On Saturday, former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden, was clearly frustrated over President Trump’s July phone call with the President of Ukraine, after the Commander in Chief reportedly urged the leader to investigate Biden’s son’s dealings in the country.

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that, in a July phone call, President Trump repeatedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to work with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani on a probe into Hunter Biden.

“Here’s what I know: I know Trump deserves to be investigated. He has violated every basic norm of a President,” Biden told the press Saturday.

“You should be asking him the question: why is he on the phone with a foreign leader trying to intimidate a foreign leader. If that’s what happened,” Biden continued. “You should be looking at Trump.”

“Trump’s doing this because he knows I’ll beat him like a drum. And he’s using the abuse of power and every element of the presidency to try to do something to smear me. Everyone’s looked at this and said there’s nothing there. Ask the right question,” he said to Peter Doocy of Fox News.

Biden also claimed that he had never spoken to his son about his business dealings in Ukraine, and he backed calls for the House to investigate — as well as suggesting it could begin a path to impeachment. (Continued Below)

“Depending on what the House finds, he could be impeached but I’m not making that judgment now,” Biden said. “The House should investigate it, this appears to be an overwhelming abuse of power.”

He went on to call President Trump a serial abuser. “He abuses power everywhere he can and if he sees any threat to staying in power, he’ll do whatever he has to do — but this crosses the line,” he said.

Biden’s remarks came after President Trump dismissed the controversy as a “Ukraine Witch Hunt” being fueled by Democrats and the “fake news media,” and added that the real scandal was to do with Biden’s interactions with the Ukraine government. (Continued Below)

“The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, want to stay as far away as possible from the Joe Biden demand that the Ukrainian Government fire a prosecutor who was investigating his son, or they won’t get a very large amount of U.S. money, so they fabricate a.story about me and a perfectly fine and routine conversation I had with the new President of the Ukraine,” President Trump tweeted.

“Nothing was said that was in any way wrong, but Biden’s demand, on the other hand, was a complete and total disaster. The Fake News knows this but doesn’t want to report! he declared.

The President also said that the media was turning the story into one about him, as they are trying to “protect” the Democratic frontrunner.

“Now that the Democrats and the Fake News Media have gone ‘bust’ on every other of their Witch Hunt schemes, they are trying to start one just as ridiculous as the others, call it the Ukraine Witch Hunt, while at the same time trying to protect Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump added. “Will fail again!”

President Trump also tweeted a video after Biden claimed that “not one single credible outlet has given any credibility to [Trump’s] assertion.”

However, Biden is wrong. President Trump’s video shows several news outlets reported on the story. Is Biden now calling the media fake news?

Biden in 2016 on what he told Ukraine: “I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’”

It’s also worth noting, Biden claimed that he “never talked to son Hunter about overseas business dealings.”

However, Hunter Biden reportedly told The New Yorker in an interview published in July that he discussed Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas producer, with his father in December 2015.
