Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has stayed relatively mum throughout the course of Democrats’ impeachment effort.

But that all changed on Wednesday, as he slammed Democrats on Twitter over their “three-year-long impeachment parade” and “impeachment obsession,” while “blocking urgent care for American families.”

McConnell also blasted Democrats for “violating norms and precedent” as part of their impeachment inquiry, which he claims is “denying” President Trump and Republicans the same rights Bill Clinton received during his proceedings.

“Washington Democrats have been engaged in a three-year-long impeachment parade in search of a rationale,” McConnell said in a thread of tweets. “Prominent House Democrats were promising impeachment at the very beginning of this presidency. Fairness and due process are not their objectives here.”

“Already, House Democrats’ impeachment ‘inquiry’ is violating norms and precedent,” he continued. “They are denying Republicans and President Trump the same rights that Democrats and President Clinton received during those impeachment proceedings.”
