House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Monday the House of Representatives will vote Thursday on a resolution to formalize the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. It is not an actual article of impeachment, but rather a resolution that sets process ground rules.
Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, Jim Jordan (R-OH), spoke with “Fox & Friends” Tuesday where he blasted House Pelosi’s impeachment efforts, suggesting that “it’s not going to change anything”.
Asked what will change on Thursday after the House votes, Rep. Jim Jordan said, “I don’t think anything. … It’s all done in secret in a bunker in the basement of the Capitol. … And frankly, I think if they tried to change something to give a little due process, we’re all still gonna vote against this, [be]cause it’s such a sham, and it’s been such a sham from the beginning.”
In a letter sent to Democratic House lawmakers, Pelosi said the resolution “affirms the ongoing, existing investigation” and “establishes the procedure” for future investigative steps. “We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said.
Jordan continued, “You can’t undo what they’ve already done. We’ve had these eight depositions now, they’ve been leaking selective parts of it, haven’t been following any type of basic due process. … I think this is just one more ‘make it up as you go along’ example, and it’s all been done in secret with these secret leaks. ‘It’s a continuation of the sham, they’re gonna try to dress it up a little bit.'”
The Ohio Congressman believes Pelosi is going to have the vote is because “the American people understand that it’s a sham and is not fair”, pointing out, “the President doesn’t get council in the room, the State Department doesn’t get agency council, the minority get no rights, can’t see the transcripts unless a special appointment is made with Democrats in the room, and they selectively leak things.” (Continued Below)
“This is all a ridiculous unfair, partisan process and the American people see through it. So I think the Speaker is gonna try to dress it up a little bit– put a little lipstick on the pig, as they say, and have this vote on Thursday. But it’s not gonna change anything,” Jordan said.
“I think you’re gonna see every single Republican vote against it,” he added. (Video Below)
Rep. Jordan also tweeted on Tuesday, “4 facts: -President Trump and President Zelensky both say there was no pressure -The transcript shows no conditionality -Ukraine didn’t know aid was held back at time of the call -Ukraine never took any of the actions they were supposedly being pressured to take”.
“Dems expect Republicans to be in 2 places at once. They’re holding an Oversight hearing when Republican members need to be in the SCIF for Dems’ partisan and biased impeachment sham. And now they’re violating the rules of the House by ignoring a privileged motion,” he further pointed out.

And now they’re violating the rules of the House by ignoring a privileged motion.

Since when does “effective and efficient oversight" mean asking us to be at hearings and @RepAdamSchiff's secret bunker at the same time?
While we are on the topic . . . waiting 30 minutes to even begin a vote isn’t exactly “efficient.” https://t.co/3CYXbfflIA
