Soon after House GOP members submitted their witness list for the upcoming public impeachment hearings, Chairman Adam Schiff issued a statement that appeared to hint that some of the proposed witnesses will be denied.

“The Committee is evaluating the Minority’s witness requests and will give due consideration to witnesses within the scope of the impeachment inquiry, as voted on by the House,” Schiff said in his statement.

“This inquiry is not, and will not serve as a vehicle to undertake the same sham investigations into the Bidens or 2016 that the President pressed Ukraine to conduct for his personal political benefit, or to facilitate the President’s effort to threaten, intimidate, and retaliate against the whistleblower who courageously raised the initial alarm,” Schiff said.

Schiff’s statement indicates a high percentage of individuals listed on the the GOP’s witness list will likely be denied by the Democrat-controlled committee, most notably Hunter Biden and the anonymous whistleblower.

“The fact that Democrats are not going to let [Hunter Biden] testify — as of right now, they’re going to give us no witnesses,” Nunes said.

Congressman Mark Meadows also weighed in after learning of Schiff’s statement.

“If Chairman Adam Schiff and Democrats are denying GOP impeachment witnesses to prevent a “sham process,” they’re certainly too late—because that’s exactly what these last 6 weeks of House Democrat’s attempted impeachment have been. A sham,” Meadows said. Video Below
