House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took to Twitter on Friday to post a video of selective testimony from witnesses during the House Intelligence Committee hearings held by chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) before the Democrat-led House voted to impeach President Donald Trump.

Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) took note of Pelosi’s tweet, asking “Where are the fact-checkers?”

Speaker Pelosi’s video included “selective soundbites” from witnesses: Ambassador William Taylor, former Ambassador Marie Yavonovitch, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Ambassador Gordon Sondland, State Department official David Holmes, and former National Security Council official Fiona Hill.

The video is meant to portray a certain narrative to smear the President, and it excludes portions of testimony from the witnesses that would tell a different story.

Pelosi also tweeted with the video: “The facts are clear and every witness told the same story, despite the President’s attempts to cover it up. President Trump abused his power for his own personal gain. #DefendOurDemocracy”, she wrote.

Congressman Mark Meadows responded to Pelosi’s tweet to say, “This is absolutely not true”.(Continued Below)

Rep. Meadows asked, “Where are the fact-checkers?? This is absolutely not true. Witnesses did NOT all tell the same story.”

“There were gaping holes in every pro-Democrat witness story on what they knew, and two of the only witnesses who had direct info (Morrison, Volker) said allegations were FALSE,” Meadows pointed out.

Kurt Volker, the former U.S. special envoy to Ukraine said in his opening statement “I have learned many things that I did not know at the time of the events in question. I did not know of any linkage between the hold on security assistance and Ukraine pursuing investigations. No one had ever said that to me — and I never conveyed such a linkage to the Ukrainians.” (Continued Below)

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) asked the witnesses about President Trump’s July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky: “Mr. Morrison, you were on that call, and there was no quid pro quo, correct? No bribery? No extortion?”, to which Morrison replied: “Correct.”

“And, Ambassador Volker, I presume you got a readout of the call. … Was there any reference to withholding aid? Any reference to bribery? Any reference to quid pro quo? Any reference to extortion?” Stefanik asked, to which Volker responded, “No, there was not.”

Morrison, in another key moment, testified that he understood the transcript of Trump’s call with Ukraine’s leader wound up on a highly secured and classified computer system due to an “administrative error” — not, as Democrats have alleged because the president wanted to hide his conversation.

House Democrats impeached President Trump claiming it was urgent, yet Speaker Pelosi has not transmitted the articles to the Senate. Rep. Meadows also responded with three more tweets amid Democrats stalling.

“Remember: Prof. Jonathan Turley looked at Democrats and told them it would be an ‘abuse of power’ to impeach POTUS over going to the courts. Democrats impeached anyway, claiming ‘urgency.’ Then they left town for 3 weeks, tabling their own articles. You truly can’t make it up,” Rep. Meadows wrote on Twitter Friday. (Continued Below)

“I find the ‘Senate must have more witnesses/evidence’ argument from Democrats to be amazing. It’s a tacit admission that the House’s impeachment case is insufficient. If they really felt they had a solid case they wouldn’t be holding this up. But they don’t. And they know it,” Meadows continued.

“House Democrats ran roughshod over process and destroyed precedent passing a totally partisan impeachment, and now demand the Senate make it ‘fair.’ In reality: the fair response from the Senate would be a full dismissal. Toss it. An illegitimate impeachment can’t be salvaged,” he added.
