Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke with host Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures”, ripping House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) after she had claimed, “As the President fiddles, people are dying”, in a Sunday CNN interview.
“Let me just say how sad it is, that even since the president’s signing of the bill, the number of deaths recorded has doubled from 1000 to 2000 in our country,” Pelosi said. “This is such a very, very sad time for us. So we should be taking every precaution– what the president, his denial at the beginning was deadly.”
“His delaying of getting equipment to where it– it continues, his delay in getting equipment where it’s needed is deadly. And the best thing to do would be to prevent more loss of life, rather than open things up so that– cause we just don’t know. We have to have testing, testing, testing. That’s what we said from the start before we can evaluate what the nature of the is in some of these other regions as well,” Speaker Pelosi continued.
“I don’t know what the purpose of that is. I don’t know what the scientists are saying to [President Trump]. I don’t know what the scientists said to him–when did this president know about this, and what did he know? What did he know, and when did he know it? That’s for an after-action review. But as the president fiddles, people are dying,” she alleged.
Senator Lindsey Graham ripped Pelosi for blaming President Trump for deaths amid the coronavirus pandemic, saying her statement is “shameful” and “disgusting”.
“[Pelosi] is blaming the President of the United States for people dying because of the way he’s led the country. That’s the most shameful, disgusting statement by any politician in modern history,” the South Carolina Senator expressed. Continued Below
“Let me tell you, we’ve seen the best of America from our citizens helping each other,” Senator Graham continued. “Delivering groceries, having special shopping hours for senior citizens.”
“She’s the first politician to blame another politician for people dying,” he noted. “This is the same Speaker of the House, who held up the bill in the Senate for days because she wanted same-day voting. She wanted carbon neutrality for the airlines, she wanted 75 million dollars for the endowment for the humanities and 25 million dollars for the Kennedy Center.”
“Pelosi is the one who held up the package in the Senate for days to get the Green New Deal put in a recovery package. It’s the most shameful, disgusting thing I’ve heard yet and it needs to stop,” Senator Graham recommended. Continued Below
Maria Bartiromo told Senator Graham that the Senate agreed to the $25 million for the Kennedy Center, to which he replied: “Yeah, because [Pelosi] wouldn’t let– she put a gun to our head and said ‘We will not get this through the House until you put 25 million dollars for the Kennedy Center'”.
“She wanted the entire New Green Deal in the package. She wanted every airline to be carbon neutral by 2025. What the hell’s that got to with saving lives that are affected by the Coronavirus?” he asked. “She had the entire New Green Deal in the package.”
“We took most of the garbage out. But for her to blame this president for causing loss of life after she held up the relief package for days to get a liberal, special interest, shopping list in the bill, is pretty disgusting,” Senator Graham vented over Pelosi’s demands. Video Below
